If you missed our corpus workshop, we have some summary notes for you!
We walked through the setup and initial use of AntConc, a freeware corpus toolkit. We looked at finding collocates and concordance using a reference corpus.
Querying keywords is useful: see Baker to find out the kind of questions you can answer using information from keywords.
You want your MI to have a minimum value of 3 for significance.
Corpus analysis is useful because we usually take "style" to mean a cluster of variables, not just one. We can use corpus data to help identify the variables.
